Are you voting on Thursday?
There's elections in most places and of course the London Mayoral election too.

Do you actually vote or not? If not why not?

But after8, pcc's aren't a political post....

They are however, a cynically stupid idea.

Hardly surprising that there's been more U-turns than usual, really. Small majority mixed with trying to keep pro-Brexit MPs happy would always create problems.

Bit like Corbyn's U-turn in the last year to suddenly become so passionately supportive of the EU...

With 27 results declared in the 40 elections for police and crime commissioners in England and Wales, the Conservatives have 15 posts and Labour 10.

So far independents have won two. They held 12 at the first polls in 2012.

Never mind being a Muslim, which is bad enough, but how can London have a Mayor who is about 4ft 9ins tall?

Re: Are you voting on Thursday?
Labour are way ahead in sucking up to the Muslim communities. Labour know they will become a key in the future to getting into government even Scotland you have hijab wearing Labour mp's.

There is no, NO way Labour will be elected next time. Once the changes in demographics start to filter through though they will never be out of office.

Labour need an 11 point swing to gain power.

If the Tories are so shit and evil why are Labour performing worse than the Tories did under IDS?

Even if there are by elections these are seats the Conservatives won against Ed Miliband.

Do you honestly think Corbyn will win them?

Labour London Mayor, academies u-turn, 6% swing to Labour but hey, at least you can't fit all the Scottish Tory MPs into a taxi now.

That was a phenomenally stupid policy. The sort of thing one of them must have come up with when he was pissed in the commons bar. Thank fuck they're not going through with it.

Tory U-Turn #2354939 - Now scrapping yet another idiotic policy, this time forcing all schools to become academies
Their tiny majority showing just how fragile the government are, and hopefully even that will soon be wiped out as a result of their fraudulent GE campaign.

However you dress it up hermit labour have beaten us in London. It's disappointing even if unsurprising.

On point two, you're drinking the ukip cool aid about a collapse in support from the middle classes.

Ukip have a ceiling of support. Chasing after them like we did in London with being angry about Muslims loses elections.

Running a positive campaign like we did in Scotland sees us gain seats.

Review the history of the success of the opposition party in these elections.

The performance is as the media have portrayed.

Re: Are you voting on Thursday?
Forget about London 8, Boris won it down entirely to the force of his personality, the Conservatives will never win it again, migration has seen to that.

As for the rest of the country, Labour must be in a terrible, terrible way if they couldn't capitalise on a Tory government that is ripping itself to shreds over Europe and presiding over a collapse in support from the middle classes.

Re: Are you voting on Thursday?
Labour are performing worse than under Michael Foot or Miliband and in fact even worse than IDS!

Corbyn was meant to bring in millions of new voters tired of the old politics.

If labour have done so well why are their MPs touring the studio's complaining about the results?

As for London. Two points. 1. Our campaign left the centre ground and instead banged on about the Muslims. 2. We don't have as good of an organisation in London as labour.

Politics is just politics. If you want to get sonething done you need power, laws, money, the ability to communicate and support. How you get there has rarely been an issue. Once you are there you will be judged. Most people never get even close.

Don't you think that's true though - the gutter politics thing?

The reason is that gutter politics doesn't always work and he misjudged London hence it backfiring this time
